He Chose Judas

Jesus chose Judas too…

In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God. And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles: Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Luke 6

He was chosen, he walked with the Lord, he served with Him for years… yet, Judas wasn’t onboard with Jesus’ agenda.

You may have been chosen, but are you onboard with Jesus’ mission, or do you have your own agenda?

Follow-Jesus, not just today, tomorrow, or for the next few years… for life.

What Does It Cost?

This is a great question to ask anyone who is selling something “what does it cost?”

Lk05 27

After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.” 28 And leaving everything, he rose and followed him.

Luke 5

This is a question everyone who has followed Jesus knows the answer to, it costs you everything… but it’s worth it!

Jesus: “I’ve Been There”

When you are tempted, what helps?

Medium 7274744896

And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit… was led by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil.

Luke 4

What helps is knowing that we are all tempted and there’s a way out (1Cor 10:13). Jesus has been there too, he was tempted in every way we are, yet he didn’t sin (Heb 4:15). We don’t have to sin just because we are tempted, and we’re all tempted. We’ve all been there, even Jesus, and we will all be there again (except Jesus). He knows, he’s there for you… lean on him.

How Old Was Jesus?

Yesterday we looked at when Jesus was born… about AD8. Not everyone agrees on that, but that’s what I think is correct (at least currently). This is not a “core issue” simply interesting…

Introducing Jesus 648x310

In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness. And he went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Luke 3:1-3

Luke does a beautiful job of adding all kinds of detail. This is one of the most convincing reasons as to why the Gospels are NOT myth, legend, or any kind of fiction.
