Psalms 19-24

The heavens declare the glory of God,

and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Look up. Those who study the sky longer realize just how small, how amazingly tiny, we are in comparison to the rest of the universe. At the same time, when we acknowledge how diverse and plentiful life is on Earth, and as far as we can tell, the rest of the universe is completely devoid of life, that makes us special. To deny God’s fine-tuning of the universe, how amazingly perfect everything is, not just on Earth, but in the entire universe, to allow us to exist… it’s astounding. Look up. See what God has done. Trust him.

Psalms 15-18

I love you, O Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,

my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,

my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,

and I am saved from my enemies.

All that is required for your salvation is for you to call upon the Lord. Not just a casual call. Not a simple “well, I’ll see if this works” but a simple call of someone who is ready to take complete refuge in the Lord. No one else, total abandonment, 100% trust. Call upon the Lord, and you too will be saved.

Psalms 8-14

O Lord, our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory above the heavens.

Out of the mouth of babies and infants,

you have established strength because of your foes,

to still the enemy and the avenger.

God is so great that his own creation speaks to his greatness. All the earth speaks to his glory. Beyond the sky as far as we can search we see his handiwork. Even children are a testimony of who he is. As many have tried to tear down God, to make us believe he is not real, he stands the test of time. Only Jesus is worthy of our praise!

Psalms 1-7

Blessed is the man

who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stands in the way of sinners,

nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

but his delight is in the law of the Lord,

and on his law he meditates day and night.

There is no substitute for the Word of God. Knowledge, strategy, gut instinct, and experience is valuable, but it all pales in comparison when placed in the light of the Bible. Do you delight in the Scriptures? Is it a daily grind to read a few verses, or do you find life in them? It’s not a matter of making yourself do something, though it may begin as an exercise in discipline, it must become something you can’t live without. If you can live without meditating day and night on God’s Word, you’re not living.

2 Samuel 23-24

David built there an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord responded to the plea for the land, and the plague was averted from Israel.

God is always ready to respond to your cry. He is always poised to give you what is the very best for you. Don’t misunderstand this as God always prepared to give you what you want, but rather, what he knows is best for you. If you are seeking him, you can rest in the knowledge that whatever is coming your way has the potential to help you to be whom God has made you to be.
