Sanctity of Human Life
The sacred image in every life

I. The IMAGE imprinted:
life’s sacred origin (Gen 1:27)

Gen 1:27 So God created man (אָדָם, ἄνθρωπος) in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female.

II. The PENALTY pronounced:
life’s sacred value (Gen 9:6)

Gen 9:6 Whoever sheds human blood, by humans his blood will be shed, for God made humans (אָדָם, ἄνθρωπος) in his image.

III. The TONGUE tamed:
life’s sacred dignity (James 3:9)

James 3:9 With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people (ἄνθρωπος) who are made in God’s likeness.

IV. The WONDER woven:
life’s sacred intricacy (Psalm 139)

Psalm 139:13-16 For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well. My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.

V. The RESCUE required:
life’s sacred saviors (Prov 24:11)

Prov 24:10-12 If you do nothing in a difficult time, your strength is limited. Rescue those being taken off to death, and save those stumbling toward slaughter. If you say, “But we didn’t know about this,” won’t he who weighs hearts consider it? Won’t he who protects your life know? Won’t he repay a person according to his work?
