Genesis: Part One
Chapters 1-3
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God CREATED the heavens and the earth
• Genesis means “BEGINNING”
There are two main sections in the whole book:
1) Gen. 1-11 “God and HUMANITY”
(Transition: Gen. 12:1-3)
2) Gen. 12-50 “God and a FAMILY“
What is the point of creation in Genesis chapters 1 and 2?
1) GOD is the one who created everything
2) He created people in His IMAGE, special
What’s the result of the sin of Adam and Eve?
Relationships are broken…
1) Between EACH OTHER (shame)
2) Between them and GOD (death)
God provides a way… from the curse to the cure…
Separation from the serpent and salvation from sin.
Gen. 3:15 I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He [Jesus] will strike your head, and you will strike His heel.
