Proverbs 8

“And now, sons, listen to me;
   those who keep my ways are happy.
Listen to instruction and be wise;
   don’t ignore it.
Anyone who listens to me is happy,
   watching at my doors every day,
   waiting by the posts of my doorway.
For the one who finds me finds life
   and obtains favor from the Lord,
   but the one who misses me harms himself;
   all who hate me love death.”

The point of learning wisdom from God’s word is to follow it. God’s ways are not meant to hold us back or keep us from having a good time, actually it’s completely the opposite. The best life you can have will come from following God’s direction for your life. Even if going your own way seems like it would be more enjoyable in the moment, in the long run, its way is death. Follow the Lord, even if for your own sake.

About John Harris

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
