More Important Than Our Plans

This man struggled with a major disability, but he had friends…

9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— 11 “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.” 12 And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

Mark 2:9-12

The faith of our friends can save us!

Don’t neglect spending time with your church. The faith your Christian friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, which they have in Jesus as well as their faith in you, can save you! This man needed physical healing, that was their plan, but he needed something more. He needed his sins forgiven. Jesus knew this, He only healed him so they would know He had the authority to forgive sins. Think about this, I’m sure the paralytic had faith, after all, he did stand up… but what about the faith of his friends? You need friends like this, don’t stop until you find them, don’t be superficial and wait for them to find you, go and seek them out at your church and YOU find ways to spend lots of time together. We all need friends like this to help bring us closer to Jesus.

About John Harris

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
