Don’t just read the Bible in 2012

As 2012 begins, it’s a great time to start reading the Bible through. You can simply start in Genesis, or start in Matthew, or any number of reading plans, but don’t just read the Bible in 2012… let it change your life.

Here’s a great plan I’ve used several times before and I’ll be using for 2012.

It mixes things up so you get some from the OT and some from the NT each day.

There are 4 readings per day (intended for 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM, but you can read them together if you like).

They are grouped together by kind of literature and they really are organized to give the reader a better grasp of the Bible as a whole.

So, what do you say? Let’s read the Bible together. We’ll get through the OT once and the NT twice

Basement Dec. 23, 2011 – Sick Day

I’ve been fighting a cold for a few days, I’m tuckered out 🙁

I went down in the basement this morning and cleaned up, put a couple rows of wall insulation in, and I nearly passed out. I just couldn’t do it with this head cold.

I went upstairs and sat down for a bit, then lunch, then I ended up taking a nap. Feeling better, hoping to get more done tomorrow (Christmas eve).

Basement Dec. 22, 2011 – Day Seven

Today is sheetrock on the ceiling day, I’ve been dreading this, it will be hard… but satisfying when it’s done:

The first sheet is up!

I measured and put the nails in on the floor, then as I hold it up in place I can just hammar 'em on in

The longest I can get down to the basement is 6ft. because of the turn in our stairs.

 

The sheets need holes for the lights

First I measure (2 or 3 times) and trace the box with an extra I bought as a template

Then I use my small hole saw to get it started

Use the jigsaw to cut a nice hole

Put it up and it fits, every time (almost)

One row done (took longer than I thought)

My TV so I can get help from Kojak and Jim Rockford

Row two done, NO MORE LIGHT HOLES!

Main ceiling finished!!! Praise the Lord!!!

Basement Dec. 21, 2011 – Day off with Reagan…

Today I’m taking Reagan to to go see Arthur Christmas, just daddy and daughter… good times 🙂

As soon as we walked in “Daddy, I need popcorn, lemonade, and  fruit snacks…”

She liked the movie, liked popcorn even more.

MMMMMMM...

She did like the movie though...

Basement Dec. 20, 2011 – Day Six

Today was all about insulation. I started the day by taking Reagan to school, then I looked after Kennedy while Beth went to the store, so I really only worked about 1/2 a day, but I needed a “light day” – it was still plenty fun…

Needed to take a trip to Lowes for some extra studs (I went a little farther than originally planned) - Respect the Van!

Safety first... don't get the fiberglass in your lungs...

I finished putting in all the insulation in the ceiling, I had to split it down the middle for the A/C ducts, the square one gave me some trouble... but all done.
