Money is something that we never like to hear about at Church, right?

It’s worth your time to just look at some interesting patterns when it comes to money and the Bible. If you’d like, Dave Ramsey has a great illustrative list of Bible verses on money. I also wrote a post about why we give to the poor earlier.

Evangelism: How To Share Your Faith

Does the thought of “sharing your faith” cause you to break-out in a cold sweat? That’s true for most people. I even still get “holy butterflies” in my stomach right before I share with someone, but I know we’re called to do it, so I do.

You don’t have to be “pushy,” in fact, you should not be, but we do need to share the Gospel with “every creature under heaven” (Mark 16), just as the Great Commission commands us to do… but how do we do it? Can You Really Believe The Bible?

Have you ever asked this question? Well, I have, and I have an answer for myself… Yes, I believe the Bible. The current culture does not come to the Bible as a text to be honored and revered, in fact, most of the time people come to this holy book with skepticism… so how do I talk to people about the Bible.

I get the call, not all that infrequently, from a concerned parent, older relative, or friend. Someone whom they care about has decided they are an atheist. They can’t believe in the “flying spaghetti monster.” Not all that original, but definitely makes their position clear, “I can’t trust the Bible.” I think that’s the core issue. They say they don’t believe in God or Jesus, but ultimately, it’s a lack of trust in the Bible, because that is where we (Christians) get our knowledge of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is the way Christians publicly announce their faith

The above picture is a baptismal pool from c. 4th century. Baptism is an adaption of the ancient Jewish practice of prostyle baptism. However, because Christian community is not a “nationality” so as to inherit by birth (cf. 1Pet 2:9), baptism is now practiced by all who repent and believe (cf. Acts 2:38).
