Though I might like to think some of my messages are good, they all pale in comparison to (the series of messages compiled by Matthew called) the Sermon on the Mount.
This is the greatest teaching on the OT Law ever recorded, so what did Jesus say about the Law?
We’ve all heard of the documentary “Supersize Me” where Morgan Spurlock ate nothing but McDonalds and his health went south.
I’ve always thought this was a dishonest documentary, otherwise known as “a documentary.”
He ate 5,000 calories per day during this experiment. So, the moral of the story is NOT “McDonalds is bad” but I think something closer to “eating 9.26 Big Macs per day will kill you”
Becoming a Christian, all things being equal, I think is a pretty easy decision. I choose to give Jesus my life, which I don’t really have anyway due to sin, and I receive eternal life then and abundant life now, what’s not to like?
Then the test comes…
Next Jesus was taken into the wild by the Spirit for the Test.
Matthew 4
John, called “the Baptizer,” was preaching in the desert country of Judea… “Change your life. God’s kingdom is here.”
This is the message of John the Baptist, the Lord Himself, and the rest of us trying to follow Jesus. The biblical word is “repent,” which comes from the Greek word μετανοἐω.
The wise men came looking for a king. They did what was logical, if you’re looking for the king of the Jews, you go to Jerusalem. Then they learned (from the Bible) they were to go to Bethlehem.
“Where can we find and pay homage to the newborn King of the Jews? We observed a star in the eastern sky that signaled his birth. We’re on pilgrimage to worship him.”

So too with us. Don’t wait for all the specifics, God doesn’t work that way.
