And you thought YOU had a “busy day”

Creation is one of the most hotly debated issue within, and outside of, the church today. On almost all sides we have people touting “you must believe as I do or you’re not a true Christian,” even in the face of numerous examples of people not on their side throughout church history.

May I suggest, back the truck up, let’s all calm down. The age of the earth is NOT a core tenant of the Christian faith.

You Gotta Have Faith

What can God do with you?

“Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

-Mark 11:22-23

The “mountain” that Jesus is talking about, I think, is the mountain of the

What do you want?

Do you tell God what you want, or are you content to continue on struggling for your own goals yourself?

51 And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

-Mark 10:51-52

God wants to know what you want, He already does, but He wants you to say it. He wants you to acknowledge that if you’re going to get it, it’s going to come from Him. You can strive for it, you can’t earn it, everything comes from Him. It’s not selfish, if you want something, ask. If it is something selfish, you’re not keeping it a secret by not telling God, and by keeping it a “secret” you’re telling God you think you can get something yourself. It is only by faith you share your desires with God. Share with Him today.

We are responsible for one another

Who is responsible for “young people” falling away from the church?

Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.

-Mark 9:42

At the end of the day, each one of us is responsible for ourselves, but if we cause others to stumble… that’s on us. I pray we don’t create a pocket of rules for our own culture at the exclusion of the Millennial culture. Time will tell. Forgive us Lord Jesus.

Who Is Jesus?

The most important question you’ll ever answer is “who is Jesus, to you…”

“But you,” He asked them again, “who do you say that I am?”

Mark 8:29

This Easter we will be starting a new series called “Elephant in the Room” where we will deal with hot and controversial issues. The first will be about what is usually called “the historical Jesus.” But there’s only one Jesus, really. Did Jesus really live? The evidence is overwhelming. But did Jesus rise from the dead? Historically speaking… YES! But as true as all that is, who is He to you! Is He YOUR Lord, not simply The Lord?

The most important decision you’ll ever make is to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and savior. Cry out to Him today, put your old life behind you, and commit to Him today… you’ll be glad you did!
