This post is a little over 2 years old. Though it’s an “oldie” it’s a goody 😉

This question frequently comes up “how in the world is Friday eventing to Sunday morning “3-days”???

Start by looking at all the references to how many days Jesus was in the grave in Matthew, you’ll quickly find that he basically says Jesus was in the tomb until the third day, he rose on the third day, as well as after three days. Then there’s the famous “three days and three nights” statement with reference to Jonah in the fish (or was it a whale???) in Matthew 12:40.

Do you hear Jesus?

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

The first step to hearing Jesus is to listen for His voice. It’s really hard to know what God is saying if you’re not in His book. Read the Bible today.

Do you believe?

35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” 36 He answered, “And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?” 37 Jesus said to him, “You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you.” 38 He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.

Jesus found the man, but he didn’t 100% know who Jesus was. He didn’t have to have it all figured out, he simply believed. He was willing to believe. Are you?

You Gotta Serve Somebody

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Most people don’t know, if they are not actively following Jesus, they are slaves to sin. They feel like they are free. They make their own choices, they live their own life. In their mind, submitting to God’s way would be restrictive, but this is an illusion.

It’s like a fish who’s mad their parents taught them not to eat the shrimp floating in the water… there’s a hook in that shrimp and you can’t survive out of the water.

Jesus is FREEDOM, follow him and be set free from sin and death.

Are You Thirsty?

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

John 7

When the water was flowing through the streets of Jerusalem Jesus stood up and said, “Come to me… I can give you the water that you seek… I can give you the Holy Spirit!”
