1Corinthians 4

1Corinthians 4:4 “For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me.”

vv. 1-5: Apostles are stewards of God’s mysteries; only God judges them.

vv. 6-7: Warning against pride; all gifts come from God.

vv. 8-13: Sarcasm about their “greatness”; apostles suffer as fools for Christ.

vv. 14-17: Paul admonishes as a father, sending Timothy as an example.

vv. 18-21: He’ll visit to confront arrogance, preferring gentleness if they repent.

1 Corinthians 4 defends apostolic humility and authority, urging humility before God’s judgment.

1Corinthians 3:16 “Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that the Spirit of God lives in you?”

vv. 1-4: Corinthians are immature, still divided over human leaders.

vv. 5-9: Paul and Apollos are God’s servants; God gives growth.

vv. 10-15: Paul laid a foundation (Christ); works will be tested by fire.

vv. 16-17: The church is God’s temple; defiling it brings judgment.

vv. 18-23: Reject worldly wisdom; all belongs to believers in Christ.

1 Corinthians 3 rebukes immaturity, portraying the church as God’s temple built on Christ alone.

1Corinthians 2:16 “But we have the mind of Christ.”

vv. 1-5: Paul preached simply, relying on the Spirit, not eloquence.

vv. 6-9: God’s wisdom is hidden from the world, revealed to believers.

vv. 10-13: The Spirit reveals this wisdom, beyond human understanding.

vv. 14-16: The natural person rejects it; the spiritual discern it with Christ’s mind.

1 Corinthians 2 emphasizes reliance on the Spirit’s wisdom, not human rhetoric, for true understanding.
