Through The Bible: Micah

“Wednesday Service” 6:30PM Scott Lake Baptist Church (Lakeland)

An Overview of The Bible
The Book of Micah

• Micah was a contemporary of ISAIAH

• In the Bible, we always have HOPE on the other side of judgment.

SECTION 1 Chapters 1-2: Micah’s accusations and warnings against ISRAEL

• Israel’s leaders are becoming wealthy though THEFT.

• Israel’s prophets are taking BRIBES

SECTION 2 Chapters 3-4: Israel runs the land through BRIBERY and corruption

• Both sections of judgment conclude with HOPE

SECTION 3 Chapters 4-5 Expounds on JUDGMENT and Hope

• Even though there will be EXILE, God would bring his people back to their land

SECTION 4 Chapters 6-7: WARNING followed by hope

—> ACT justly

—> LOVE faithfulness

—> WALK humbly with your God

• Why would God listen to an utterly faithless people?

1. Because of God’s CHARACTER

2. Because of God’s PROMISES

• God’s purpose in judgment is not to destroy, but to save and redeem those who will trust in Him.
