• Daniel is set just after the FIRST attack on Jerusalem

• Chapters 1-6 are stories about Daniel and his FOUR friends.

• Chapters 7-12 are Daniel’s visions about the FUTURE.

• CHAPTER 7 is the center of the book and it’s the parallel to CHAPTER 2

• Daniel sees FOUR strange beasts.

• Each beast symbolizes a coming wicked KINGDOM.

• In CHAPTER 8 Daniel has a new vision about the final TWO kingdoms of CHAPTER 7

• In CHAPTER 9 Daniel is very PUZZLED by his visions

DANIEL 9:24-27
—> Artaxerxes decrees that Nehemiah can restore and rebuild Jerusalem in 457BC
—> 7-Weeks (of years) + 62-Weeks (of years)
—> After those 483-years the “Anointed One” will be “cut off”
—> The people of the coming ruler will destroy the city
—> The covenant will be confirmed for 1-Week (of years) 483 + 7 = 490-Years
—> In the middle of that week (of years), he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering
—> The abomination that causes desolation will happen until the decreed destruction is poured out.

• CHAPTERS 10-12 are Daniel’s THIRD vision

• In every generation there is HOPE.
