• Ezekiel is a PRIEST in training living in Jerusalem during the first Babylonian attack

FIRST MAJOR SECTION Chapters 1-11
• Ezekiel is commissioned as a PROPHET (Chapters 1-3)
• Ezekiel performs many SIGNS (Chapters 4-5)
• God was going to bring a sword against the HIGH PLACES (Chapters 6-7)
• After a year God gives Ezekiel a tour of the TEMPLE (Chapters 8-11)

NEXT THREE SECTIONS Chapters 12-24; 25-32; 33
• These are pronouncements of JUDGMENT on specific groups:
a. Israel (Chapters 12-24)
b. The Nations around Israel (Chapters 25-32)
c. Jerusalem itself (Chapter 33)

Chapters 12-24
• 4 Allegories to illustrate Israel:
The VINE, the UNFAITHFUL wife, two EAGLES, two adulterous SISTERS
• Ezekiel is like a LAWYER bringing a case against Israel

Chapters 25-32
• God’s judgment is focused on the NATIONS around Israel, specifically Philistia, Edom, Amnon, and Moab. Then on the greatest nation-states of Egypt and Tyre

Chapter 33

• Ezekiel meets a REFUGEE

THE FINAL SECTION Chapters 34-48 (NEXT WEEEK)

• All about HOPE for Israel, The Nations, and All Creation.
