Judges 1:1 After the death of Joshua,
the Israelites inquired of the Lord,
“Who will be the first to fight for us against the Canaanites?”
• Othniel: sets the PATTERN of the judges (Judges 3a)
• Ehud: uses his God given uniqueness to ACT while relying on divine guidance (Judges 3b)
• Shamgar: used what he HAD, did the BEST he could, and left the RESULTS to God (Judges 3:31)
• Deborah (Barak): no MEN would step-up, so God raised-up WOMEN to save them (Judges 4-5)
