People have a HOLINESS problem

God solved this problem for Israel with:
1) RITUALS (Chapters 1-7 & 23-27)
• How to make sacrifices to communicate with God
• How to remember what God has done
• “Do this in remembrance of me” Luke 22:19-20
2) THE PRIESTHOOD (Chs. 8-10 & 21-22)
• How to be ordained a priest & how to live by higher standards
• Allows someone to speak to God on behalf of the people
• “our priest forever after the order of Melchizedek” Hebrews 7
3) PURITY LAWS (Chs. 11-15 & 18-20)
• We must be ritually pure and morally right
• “we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.” Hebrews 10:10
