Genesis: Part Three
Chapters 12-50
Genesis 12:1-3 is a transition between the two parts of the book, from God dealing with the WORLD to God dealing with a FAMILY
You can be blessed by God if you will join His FAMILY
This family is broken and dysfunctional, these are not the GOOD GUYS
Abraham: tries to give away his WIFE (twice!)
Isaac: has two sons and BLESSES Jacob in stead of Esau
Jacob: STEALS his father’s inheritance, then loves JOSEPH more than his other TEN sons
Joseph’s brothers plan to KILL him but RUBEN stops them
Judah suggests they SELL Joseph to Midianite traders
In stead of REVENGE Joseph SAVES his family
God took the evil of Abraham’s GRANDCHILDREN and turned it into SALVATION
