Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
Most of us make decisions based on what we get. We are exceedingly selfish. I’ve even heard of people hopping from church to church because of their own personal preferences “what will you do for me?” The Christian life is not for us. It’s not for people to receive glory, or fame, or to have our own desires catered to. The Christian life is about bringing glory to the name of Jesus. Everything we do should be in the service of that goal. Not to us, but to your name Jesus!
