There are events in our lives that change everything, do you remember where you were on 9/11/2001?
51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many. 54 When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
Matthew 27:51-54
Jesus’ death changed everything, for everyone, for all time.
When He died, His sacrifice destroyed the veil of separation between God’s people and everyone else (i.e. Eph 2:14 in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility between Jew and Gentile was destroyed). Now we can all have fellowship with God through His Son Jesus Christ! This was a monumental shift, all of creation was turned inside out and upside down. When faced with this reality, you can reject Him, or you can agree with those keeping watch over Jesus (a roman guard played by John Wayne in The Robe) “Truly this is the Son of God!”
