Not A Catchy Gospel (1Cor 2)

my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

It’s important to be sure we clearly and effectively share the gospel with people, but we don’t have to make the message “catchy.” It is easy to think that the receptiveness of someone to the good news depends on the quality of our presentation. Though, I do believe a poor and disorganized communication of the gospel doesn’t help the cause, it is by the Spirit the truth of Jesus Christ is truly imparted. We don’t have to be cute or overly creative, it is not up to us to make God’s Word more compelling… we just need to do our best to be clear and to present Him well. God is the one who does it.

About John Harris

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
