Remain (John 15)

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Jesus is the source of our ability to follow Him. Don’t feel like you have to “dig down deep” to find the strength to “be a better person,” actually, you can’t be. It’s only when you tap-in to Jesus that you’re able to do anything worth doing. It’s not about trying harder, it’s about connecting to the right source. If you remain (abide) in Jesus, you’ll produce results (fruit), if you don’t, then you’re not in Him and He’s not in you. To put it another way, if you’re feeling like you just can’t live the Christian life, you aren’t relying on Jesus as your source, turn to Him, He’s there for you.

About John Harris

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
