Why The Change?

“There he goes again, why is he changing things?”

NewImage

Does this sound familiar? Every organization, church, business, etc. goes through change. The only organization that doesn’t change is a dead one.

A synonym for change is “growth.”

I think somewhere along the way we have bought into the lie that we can reach a certain “level” and then just stay there. I don’t think this is true in any area of life. You have got to constantly be growing, or you will decay and become irrelevant.

There are good changes and there are bad changes, and it’s usually not all that easy to tell the good from the bad at the moment. All change is different and most of us don’t like different.

But, the best thing you can do, if you find yourself in a changing organization, is to grow personally. If you want to make a difference, if you want to guide how the change happens, you need to lead, and you can’t take people where you aren’t going.

Where are you now? Where do you want to go? What will it take to get there? That’s all you need to know, that’s all you need to do.

The good news is, for Believers, Jesus will never leave us or forsake us. He is with us through the changes of life, and the Comforter is here to help us.

About John Harris

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
